Fire UFS Intumescent Fabric Sleeve for Ducting

A UFS is a new concept range of through wall fire protection in a fabric sleeve which is internally lined with Intumescent material that fits around plastic rectangular or circular ducts, cable trays and general plastic pipes.

The UFS Sleeve is suitable for use where plastic ducts, cable trays or pipes pass through walls. The sleeve goes through the wall and can finish flush with the wall on both sides but it is recommended to leave some showing to prove fitting.

Fire rated to 1 hour, 1.5 hour or 2 hours.

Application

The UFS intumescent duct sleeve must be positioned centrally to bridge the cavity within stud partitioning, so that as a minimum it is flush with both faces of the wall, or protrudes from each face.

The plasterboard should be cut to be as tight a fit as possible around the UFS intumescent fire sleeve/wrap.

In a fire the intumescent expands and being contained within the UFS sleeve/wrap it expands and closes the hole left by the collapsing ducting retaining the structures integrity.

The UFS intumescent sleeve/wrap is made to suit the size of the ducting/pipe and the length required.

The UFS intumescent sleeve/wrap incorporates a self adhesive tab to secure the sleeve around the duct/pipe allowing positioning through the wall/partition.

Make good edges and surface with fire and acoustic sealant.
