Intumescent Fire Grille Blocks

A block grille made up of strips of intumescent material at 50mm spacing encased in a steel frame and faced on both sides with a 12mm wire mesh giving an 80% free air flow.

The standard range is 60 minute fire rated, 90 and 120 minute rated blocks are available upon request.

Application

Designed for use in openings in fire compartment walls, floors, fire doors and partitions where air ventilation is required. The product is designed to fit in a square, rectangular or round hole with a tolerance approximately 2-3mm.

The grille should be sealed around the edges using Intumescent Acrylic Mastic and should be placed centrally within the structure and mechanically secured using screws and angle strips.

Where a cavity exists in side of a wall then a block grille is normally placed each side of the cavity. Alternatively the cavity should be framed or enclosed to set only one block grille centrally in the wall.
